Simple Pleasures for the Solstice; A Holiday Break for Families at Potomac Overlook


Arlington (December 7, 2009)    Take a break from the hectic holiday season to visit Potomac Overlook for the annual winter solstice event, exploring the ageless wisdom of people, communities and the Earth itself.  The event will take place on Sunday, December 20th at 2 p.m. at Potomac Overlook Regional Park in Arlington.

 

This years theme:  “Simple Pleasures are Life’s Treasures” will be celebrated with games, stories, crafts, and entertainment.  The event will feature a performance by “The Jazzy Juggler” and a baritone horn solo by park naturalist and musician extraordinaire, Rich Bailey. Park naturalists will also present “5 Simple Ways To Identify Animals and Plants in Northern Virginia.”

 

This program is limited to 25 participants (adults and children age 6 and older).  Reservations are required. Refreshments will be served.
