On the Potomac Palisades in north Arlington, Potomac Overlook offers 70 acres of peaceful woodland. Potomac Overlook's Nature Center houses displays and live animal exhibits. The Naturalist staff conducts programs on ecology, local natural history, Indian history and energy for schools, groups and the general public. Youth and nature-oriented groups and schools may make arrangements for special programs throughout the year. There is no charge for most programs for groups within NVRPA’s six jurisdictions.
NEW this year! “Unlocking the Secrets of a Living Planet” (a guided walk where you solve the puzzles) and “Canoe the Marsh” (Naturalist-guided canoe trips). First walk is April 6 and first canoe trip is April 19, but both events are held regularly into the fall! Click on “More Park Events” at right to find out more.
For more information, click on the choices shown on the “navigation bar” above.
Directions: Potomac Overlook is located at the end of Marcey Road, off of Military Road, in north Arlington. For more detailed directions from different parts of the Washington D.C. area, please click on “Hours and Directions,” above.
