School Programs

Our Roving Naturalist Program offers outreach and field trips to public and privates schools for all grades.

Whether it be a guest speaker at your schools career day, or an in depth lesson on any natural history topic, our experienced naturalist can offer many opportunities for students and teachers to learn.

Through hands on exploration, an interpretative slideshow, live animal presentations, stream studies, field nature walks, or guided canoe trips students will gain first hand knowledge on many topics.

All programs can be tailored to meet Virginia Science Standards of Learning. The following are examples of the program topics that can be done at your school or on a field trip to one of our parks.
