In 1908, Henry Harrison, a Leesburg lawyer, bought the 63 acres that is part of Rust Sanctuary to build a home for his wife, Ann Lee.  The original house was rectangular shaped structure which was added onto by William and Mary Rust when they bought the property in 1928.  The Rusts incorporated architectural features from other, eighteenth-century family homes in the Leesburg area, giving Rust Manor House a very stately appearance.  They named their new home Yeocomico after the Westmoreland County estate owned by the first Rust to settle in America.

The Atrium (includes Garden Room, Iris Room, Lilac Room, Terrace and Preparation Kitchen)

The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens has been voted among the top three event locations in suburban Washington, DC, by Washingtonian Magazine. The Atrium includes an indoor garden, stream, fountain, two-thousand-square foot skylight, commercial-grade catering kitchen, glass walls and a terrace that overlooks beautiful gardens. Weddings, corporate banquets and awards ceremonies frequently book more than a year in advance. Events can accommodate 175 seated guests or up to 300 standing guests. The Visitor Center at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens offers a unique venue for up to 65 people seated or 100 standing. Vaulted ceilings, a large central fireplace and exceptional nature artwork make this a "natural for evening gatherings.

Carlyle House Historic Park in the heart of Alexandria is a stately and unique setting for your wedding. Special events take place on the tented Magnolia Terrace overlooking the lovely gardens and the 18-century style summerhouse. The mansion is open for tours during your function. The Woodlands at Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling, VA features a beautiful grand ballroom with a striking stone fireplace and wall-to-wall, two-story windows offering breathtaking views of Algonkian's scenic 18-hole golf course and the wooded banks of the Potomac River. There is a commercial kitchen perfect for catering small to large events. There is a smaller room adjacent to the ballroom that is fit for smaller meetings and services for social events. A beautiful bridal room is located near the ball room, a fitting location for the bride and her guests. The large ballroom features modern audio-visual technology including DVD players and automated projection screens.
