Fishing

 


Fishing licenses are required by law for fishermen 16 or older. Overnight fishing, jet skis and swimming are prohibited. The park closes at sunset.

 
 
 
   
Fishing:
  largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, perch, bluegill
Boating:
  10-horsepower limit; 3 and 4-man jon boats and electric motors available for rent; boat launch (see fees)
Amenities:
  wide selection of bait and tackle, fishing licenses, snack bar, fishing scale, bragging board, 250-foot fishing pier, 100-foot floating dock
Water Access:
  Hooes Run downstream and the upper reaches of the Bull Run and Occoquan Rivers upstream 
 
 

Anglers enjoy fishing out of Fountainhead Regional Park because the no wake zone allows for peaceful fishing from Occoquan to Bluemont. The no wake zone does not apply to Fountainhead Regional Park above the dam.
