  The Wave Pool

Size of the Wave Pool: 17,500 square feet-a little less than a half acre of water
Number of gallons of Water: 475,000
Depth of the Wave Pool: 8 feet in the deepest end tapering to a zero-depth entry
Waves: vary from 4 feet to a few inches

What makes the waves?
Air! Three 80-horsepower motors drive fans that inject air into chambers on an alternating cycle produce waves that are rolling rather than breaking. A computer synchronizes the fans to control the timing and production of the waves.

The sun deck: The Wave Pool is surrounded by a half-acre sun deck covered in Astro-turf.

Safety First:
Patrons are advised that swimming in a wave pool is more strenuous than in a flat-water pool. Only strong swimmers should go beyond waist-deep water. Parents should supervise their children at all times.

The waves are operated on a cycle of 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off.
