09/27/2012 07:00 PM to 09/27/2012
Cost: $5 for adults and $2 for children
Jim Hershman will speak about the different experiences in the Civil Rights era of counties on the opposite ends of the Virginia Piedmont—Pittsylvania County, bordering North Carolina, and Loudoun County, bordering Maryland. Historian Hershman brings this to life through his personal experience, having been accidentally caught in a race riot at Danville, being an historian of Virginia’s civil rights struggle, and knowing Loudoun’s recent history.
